A pioneer in the development of opioid and esoteric assays, Immunalysis offers a complete menu of urine Homogenous Enzyme Immunoassay (HEIA™) reagents for drug testing.
HEIA™ formats are designed to be rapid and inexpensive, since the assays require no incubation or separation steps, and the reactions occur entirely in solution. The antigen being measured competes for a limited number of antibody binding sites with enzyme labeled antigen. The reagent antibody has the ability to block enzymatic activity when bound with the reagent enzyme-antigen complex preventing formation of product in the presence of substrate. The free antigen- enzyme complexes resulting from competition with measured antigen in the sample forms color-change products proportional to the concentration of antigen present in the specimen.

Immunalysis 6-AM HEIA™ - Heroin (diacetylmorphine) rapidly metabolizes to 6-acetylmorphine (6-AM or 6-monoacetylmorphine), morphine, and 3-monoacetylmorphine. 6-AM rapidly metabolizes to morphine at a slower rate and its presence in urine confirms the use of heroin.
Immunalysis Benzodiazepines HEIA™ - Benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed medications used in the treatment of anxiety, pain relief, sedation, and as anti-convulsants. Many types of benzodiazepines are available in Canada. All benzodiazepines work the same way; however, the intensity and duration of their effects vary. For calibrator and control set information, please contact for a product insert.
Immunalysis Buprenorphine HEIA™ - Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic opiate with partial agonist and antagonist actions. It is a powerful analgesic, 25 to 40 times more potent than morphine. It is used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, peri-operative analgesia, and opioid dependence. Overdose symptoms of the drug include confusion, dizziness, pinpoint pupils, hallucinations, hypotension, respiratory difficulty, seizures and coma.
Immunalysis Synthetic Cannabinoids HEIA™ - Immunalysis now offers two distinct Synthetic Cannabinoid Homogeneous Enzyme Immunoassays (HEIA™) for the detection of Synthetic Cannabinoids in urine. Our original assay, geared towards the detection of JWH-018, JWH-073, AM-2201 and their metabolites, is now complemented by a NEW assay targeted at the next generation, UR-144 and XLR11 compounds found in the current Spice or K2
Immunalysis Carisoprodol HEIA™ - Carisoprodol is indicated for the relief of discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. Carisoprodol is known to be metabolized to Meprobamate and Hydroxy-Meprobamate. In 2008, over 10 million prescriptions for Carisoprodol were dispensed. Carisoprodol and Meprobamate are among the 10 most frequently identified drugs in drug-impaired driving cases.
Immunalysis Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG) HEIA™ - EtG is a minor non-oxidative metabolite of ethyl alcohol which is formed in the body by glucuronidation following exposure to ethanol, such as by drinking alcoholic beverages. It may be used as a biomarker to test for ethanol use in monitoring programs and is advantageous because it detects recent ingestion for a longer period of
Immunalysis Fentanyl HEIA™ - Fentanyl is a synthetic narcotic analgesic of high potency and short duration of action. Though 200 times more potent than Morphine, Fentanyl has a high safety margin. The drug is available as a citrate salt in an injectable solution containing 50 μg/mL. It is also available as a transdermal patch containing 2.5-16 mg Fentanyl and provides a
Immunalysis Ketamine HEIA™ - Ketamine is an anesthetic drug used on animals and sometimes humans. It is also used in the treatment of depression and postoperative pain management. However, Ketamine has become popular as a street drug used at clubs and raves due to its hallucinogenic effects. In 2005, Health Canada declared it a narcotic in order to restrict how the
Immunalysis Meperidine HEIA™ - Meperidine is a synthetic narcotic analgesic which acts on the central nervous system by a mechanism that is similar to Morphine, although with a shorter duration of action. Meperidine has approximately one tenth the potency of Morphine and tolerance to Meperidine develops more slowly. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain, producing clinical effects of
Immunalysis Methadone/EDDP HEIA™ - Methadone is a synthetic opioid that is structurally unrelated to Morphine, however possesses many of the pharmacological properties of Morphine. Its therapeutic uses are analgesia, sedation and maintenance in opioid addiction. This new assay from Immunalysis enables Laboratories to screen urine for Methadone and EDDP with a single assay while minimizing concerns due to “fast metabolizers” or “poor
Immunalysis Oxycodone HEIA™ - Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic narcotic analgesic generally prescribed for the relief of moderate to severe pain. Its potency is approximately equivalent to Morphine. Oxycodone is available as a single compound, but is often combined with other analgesics like Acetaminophen or Aspirin.
Immunalysis Tapentadol HEIA™ - Tapentadol is a centrally-acting synthetic analgesic with a dual mode of action as an agonist at the μ-opioid receptor and as a Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. The drug is used to manage moderate to severe acute pain. It provides analgesia at similar levels of more potent narcotic analgesics such as Hydrocodone, Oxycodone and Meperidine with a more tolerable
Immunalysis Tramadol HEIA™ - Tramadol is a synthetic, centrally acting analgesic used to treat moderate to severe pain. It appears to have actions at the μ-opioid receptor as well as in the noradrenergic and serotonergic systems.
Immunalysis Zolpidem HEIA™ - Zolpidem is a short-acting nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic used for short term treatment of insomnia as well as brain disorders. Zolpidem is also is used off-label to treat restless leg syndrome and as an antiemetic. Zolpidem and other sedative hypnotic drugs are detected frequently in cases of people suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. Many drivers have
